Salted Egg flavoured DI HUANG MIAO
Craving for Greens in my meal. I bought 2 packets (400g each) of DI HUANG MIAO 帝皇苗 (Malabar Spinach) to cook. Just rinse them, divide leaves and pluck the tender stems to short length.
In a non stick fry pan I first heat up 1 TBS Butter, drop in the Di Huang Miao’s stems and leaves to toss in the Butter.
Crack in 2 Salted Eggs and cover to cook for 2 mins till the salted Egg White and Yolks are cooked.
Sprinkle in 1/2 TBS Sugar, add in 2 TBS Hua Diao Wine 花雕酒, toss well, off heat and transfer to a serving plate.
A very fragrant Salted Egg flavoured DI HUANG MIAO is ready to serve.

Rooftop Garden Renovation Day 8
Day 8 Repair Work to my Roof Garden. Continuation of painting work (Mustard Yellow) on walls and Store Room Doors, one on Roof Garden, one on Halfway Landing where I put my Washing Machine; threw away all plants with big plastic planter boxes since I will be replanting again.
Only saved 1 Blue Peas Flower Plant and 2 other plants. The Ocean Blue Polycarbonate Roof Sheet and Terracotta Earth Tiles were nicely fixed up to prevent rain and storm. Wire mesh and planted metal boxes were fixed on the cement wall, wooden seatings were fixed up at the side.
To be continued to fix outdoor carpet on top of the iron wood flooring. After that I will think what to plant. Still lots to do as I am a perfectionist.

Rooftop Garden Renovation Day 9
Day 9, Repair Work on my Rooftop Garden. Today installation of special Carpet on the Iron Wood flooring of the Rooftop Garden. Nice to meet up with the specialist Uncle Richard who is so skillful in laying the carpet. We share God’s gospel to each other and counted both of our blessings.
Pig Trotters Lotus Seeds Soup
Raining day. Need a good Soup to keep the body warm. I am boiling a Pig Trotters Lotus Seeds Soup today.
I have 500 g Pig Trotters chopped to big pieces, 1 cup Dried Lotus Seeds with the centre bitter pits removed and 1 big Onion cut to dices. Fill these into an electric Crock Pot, add in 8 cups hot boiling water and set it to 3 hours cooking time. Towards end of cooking add in Himalayan Pink Salt to taste. Can serve the soup with Rice or Mee Suah (Flour Vermecelli).

Cutting Nian Gao 年糕
I used my serrated knife to cut my big Chinese New Year Nian Gao 年糕 of 9 inch diameter to slices and filled up 5 plastic boxes. Going to keep them in the fridge and I can use them to make nice snacks. I am a big fan of Nian Gao.

Hot sunny afternoon. Waiting for Bus 190 to go to Takashimaya Shopping Centre in Orchard Road to pick up my Japanese magazines I ordered from Kinokuniya Book Shop. So hot I need to bun up my hair.
