A yummylicious gorgeous Healthy lunch enjoyed by my Samurai, cooked by me, his Geisha CAT. We both love Abalone.

Using Knorr Aromat granules to boil Long Cabbage and Red Dates till soft. Add in Maitake Mushrooms and canned Abalone with Braised Black Mushrooms. Adjust flavouring by adding 3 TBS Soba Tsuyu, a little Salt and a little Sugar. Garnish with Coriander Leaves. Voila, a delicious New Year soupy lunch is done. Eat Happy Live Healthy 健康愉食。

Breakfast

Yew Chia Kueh 油炸鬼 (油条) and Nescafe Gold with Milk without Sugar

It is a cold rainy day. From freezer I used oven toaster to toast Yew Chia Kueh 油炸鬼 (油条) and dipped it into my cup of Nescafe Gold with Milk without Sugar as Breakfast. A very traditional South East Asian breakfast.

Feel like eating TAKOYAKI (Grilled Octopus Balls) so took out from my freezer my premade Takoyaki and heat up in my oven.

Serve with my BULL-DOG brand Tonkatsu Sauce and QP brand Calories 50% off Mayonnaise. Tastes so good. Eating and watching Youtube drama program. It is still raining outside.

Again today is a very cool day in Singapore. At 12.45pm having my first meal at home.

Made a 8.5 mins Half Boiled Egg by pouring hot boiling water to an egg in a 900ml jug and covered for 8.5mins, my all time favourite. Toasted 1 Hum Cheen Peng 咸煎饼 (a Chinese deep fried pastry with 5 spice flavour). I always bought some and stored in the freezer. I love my Nescafe Gold with Milk without Sugar.

A comforting meal to begin my day. Oh, it starts to rain again.

Dark Brown and White Dish

This dark brown and white dish I created as one of the items to be served as lunch tastes so good.

I pared and cut to thick slices 5 medium Potatoes, then soak in water before cooking. Cut away the bottom from 1 packet of White Shimeji Mushrooms, quickly rinse and drain and separate them.

Have 2 TBS Organic Coconut Oil to heat up in a non stick fry pan, add in the drained Potatoes and pan fry both sides to 80% cooked. Dribble in a little Dark Thick Soya Sauce, a little Himalayan Pink Salt and 1 tsp Sugar. Add in 1/2 cup water to simmer till Potatoes are cooked and sauce thickens. Transfer to a serving plate.

Wash the fry pan. Heat up with 1/2 tsp Organic Coconut Oil and 1/2 tsp Sesame Oil. Drop in 1/2 tsp Salt and White Shimeji Mushrooms. Saute over strong heat for 1 minute. Off fire and pour over the Potatoes. Ready to serve.

Konbu (Sea Kelp)
Konbu (Sea Kelp)
Soak a piece of 3 inches long Konbu (sea kelp) in 2000ml tap water for 30 mins

Bring to boil with 4 leaves Napa Cabbages shreds, carrot slices, Ginger slices, 2 TBS Dried Longan and a few pieces of blanched Spare ribs. Boil till veggies turn soft.

Add in 2 rice bowls of defrosted cooked Barley grains, boil to heat through. Lastly add in white part of leek to cook for 5 mins.

Barley Grain Vegetables “Porridge”

Having our Nutritious Healthy lunch at home which I cooked. Through cooking I express my love to my Samurai.

Use a piece of 3 inches long Konbu (sea kelp) which I soak in tap water 2,000ml for 30 mins. Bring to boil with 4 leaves Napa Cabbages cut to shreds, 1 large carrot cut to slices, 1 small knob Ginger cut to slices and 2 TBS Dried Longan. Add A few pieces of blanched Spare ribs. Boil till veggies turn soft.

Add in 2 rice bowls of defrosted cooked Barley grains, boil to heat through.

Towards end of cooking, add in 1 stalk of scissors snipped white part of Leek to cook for 5 minutes, add in Himalayan Pink Salt to taste.

Off fire, ready to serve with some snipped green part of Leek. Very fragrant, light and natural sweetness of the veggies in the Barley “porridge”.

Blessed day everyone. My healthy breakfast consists of saute 2 Fresh Shiitake Mushrooms with an Egg, sprinkled with Yasai Furikake (Japanese Dried Veggies Sprinkles), 1 toasted Chinese pastry with Chives and Minced Pork Filling 韭菜猪肉馅饼 and a cup of Nescafe Gao Siew Dai. (Nescafe thick with less Sugar).

I think I can just finish half of the Chinese Pastry. The amount of this breakfast set is too big for me. Though nice but to eat mindfully.

A light meal I cooked for my beloved Samurai.

First bring to boil 400ml water with 1/4 tsp Japanese Ajinomoto brand Hondashi granules (with Sea kelp and Bonito Fish base), pour in 1/3 cup of left over cooked Short Grain Rice to simmer with 1/3 cup of Fish Slices seasoned with a little Salt and Pepper, crack in an egg on top, cover with lid and simmer till Fish and Egg are cooked. Off heat and transfer to a bowl.

Garnish with a little chopped Chinese Celery or Coriander Leaves or Spring Onion. Before eating dribble in a little Light Soya Sauce and a dash of Pepper.

The drink today is Nescafe Gold with Milk without Sugar.

Bought a duck. Created a new recipe known as MISO GOCHUJANG DUCK.

Remove duck fat & skin and divide into 2 parts. One part with just bones, duck feet and wings to save up for making soup another day. The remaining meaty part I cut to pieces and cook Ginger Miso Gochujang Duck. (click to read the full post…)
