Collection of Homemade Spices recipes

Homemade spice recipes for baking and cooking. I have printed out a copy of this list and had it laminated which I put in my recipe binder for easy access.
T/Tbsp= Tablespoon, t/ tsp= teaspoon, C= Cup


Adobo Seasoning:
1 Tbsp kosher salt, 1 Tbsp spanish paprika, 2 tsp black pepper, 2 tsp garlic powder, 1 tsp onion powder, 1 tsp dried oregano, 1 tsp chili powder, 1 tsp cumin.
Add ingredients to a small mason jar put lid on and shake until combined.
Notes: If you can’t find or don’t have spanish paprika you can use regular paprika. Just add a dash more of garlic powder.


Chicken Seasoning:
1 Tbsp rosemary 1 Tbsp oregano 1 Tbsp ground sage 1 t powdered ginger 1 t marjoram 1½ tsp. thyme 3 Tbsp packed brown sugar 3 Tbsp dry minced parsley 1 tsp pepper 1Tbsp paprika 2 Tbsp garlic salt 2 Tbsp onion salt 2 Tbsp chicken bouillon powder 1 pkg. Lipton cup tomato soup mix

Pulse in mini chopper; store in airtight container
(To coat chicken add 1 oz. mix to 1 C flour)


Chili Powder:
3 Tbsp paprika 1 Tbsp ground cumin 2 Tbsp dried oregano 1 tsp red or cayenne pepper 1/2 tsp garlic powder.

Add ingredients to a small mason jar and close lid and shake until combined.


Chinese Five-Spice Powder:
1 tsp ground Szechwan pepper 1/2 tsp ground cinnamon 1/2 tsp ground cloves 1 1/4 tsp ground fennel seeds 1 tsp ground star anise.

Add ingredients to a small mason jar and close lid and shake until combined.


Cinnamon Sugar:
1 C granulated sugar 2 Tbsp ground cinnamon.
Add ingredients to a small mason jar and close lid and shake until combined.


Creole Meat Seasoning:
1/2 C salt 1/4 C finely minced garlic 1/4 C freshly ground black pepper 1/4 C cayenne pepper 2 tsp cumin seed.

Add ingredients to a small mason jar and close lid and shake until combined.


Creole Seasoning:
4 tsp salt 4 tsp paprika 1 Tbsp garlic powder 1 Tbsp black pepper 2½ tsp onion powder 1 1/2 tsp dried thyme leaves 1 1/2 tsp dried oregano 1 1/2 tsp cayenne pepper.

Add ingredients to a small mason jar and close lid and shake until combined.


Fajita Seasoning:
1 tsp cumin 1/2 tsp dried oregano 1/4 tsp onion powder 1/4 tsp garlic powder 1/4 tsp salt 1/4 tsp pepper.

Add ingredients to a small mason jar and close lid and shake until combined.


Taco Seasoning:
1 Tbsp cornstarch 2 Tbsp chili powder 1 Tbsp kosher salt 1/4 cup sweet paprika 1 tsp granulated sugar 1 Tbsp onion powder 1 Tbsp garlic powder 1 Tbsp cumin 1 tsp coriander 1 Tbsp dried oregano 1 tsp ground black pepper.

Add ingredients to a small mason jar and close lid and shake until combined.


Garam Masala:
1 tsp cumin 1 Tbsp coriander seeds 1 tsp sesame seeds 1 tsp black peppercorns 1 tsp cloves 1 tsp mace 1 tsp cinnamon 3 cardamom pods

Toast in a medium-low skillet for two minutes; then grind and add to a small mason jar and close the lid.


Garlic Pepper:
8 tsp garlic powder 4 1/2 tsp black pepper 1 Tbsp ground parsley flakes.

Add ingredients to a small mason jar and close lid and shake until combined.


Greek Seasoning:
1/4 C dried oregano leaves 2 Tbsp fennel seeds 2 Tbsp crushed dried lemon grass 3/4 tsp black pepper.

Add ingredients to a small mason jar and close lid and shake until combined.


Herb Mix:
1 Tbsp onion powder 1 Tbsp garlic powder 1 Tbsp dried parsley flakes 1 tsp dried basil leaves 1 tsp dried thyme leaves 1 tsp dried marjoram leaves 1 tsp black pepper.

Add ingredients to a small mason jar and close lid and shake until combined.


Herbs de Provence:
1 Tbsp dried basil leaves 1 Tbsp dried marjoram leaves 1 Tbsp dried summer savory leaves 1 Tbsp dried thyme leaves 2 tsp orange zest 1 powdered bay leaf 1 tsp fennel seeds.

Add ingredients to a small mason jar and close lid and shake until combined.


Indian Spice Blend:
8 tsp cumin 4 tsp ground ginger 2 tsp ground coriander 2 tsp cayenne 4 tsp turmeric 2 tsp black pepper.

Add ingredients to a small mason jar and close lid and shake until combined.


Italian Herb Seasoning:
1/4 c oregano 2 Tbsp marjoram 2 Tbsp thyme 1/4 c basil 2 Tbsp rosemary 2 Tbsp garlic powder 1/4 C parsley.

Add ingredients to a small mason jar and close lid and shake until combined.


Kitchen Spice Mix:
2 Tbsp salt 1 tsp ground dried lemon peel 1 Tbsp dry English-style mustard 2 tsp ground allspice 2 tsp ground ginger 2 tsp ground nutmeg 2 tsp black pepper 2 tsp cayenne pepper.

Add ingredients to a small mason jar and close lid and shake until combined.


Lowry’s Seasoned Salt:
2 Tbsp pepper 1 Tbsp chicken bouillon powder 1 tsp onion salt 1 tsp onion powder 1 Tbsp garlic salt 1 tsp cumin powder 1 tsp dry marjoram leaves 1 Tbsp minced parsley 1 tsp paprika 1/2 tsp curry powder 1 Tbsp chili powder 1/3 C salt.

Add ingredients to a small mason jar and close lid and shake until combined.


Middle Eastern Spice Mix:
1 tsp cumin 1 tsp cardamom 1/2 tsp allspice 1/2 tsp coriander 1/2 tsp cloves 1 tsp pepper 1 tsp red pepper flakes crushed 1/2 tsp ginger 1 tsp turmeric 1 tsp salt 1 Tbsp paprika 1 tsp cinnamon.

Add ingredients to a small mason jar and close lid and shake until combined.


Mrs. Dash Seasoning Blend:
1/2 tsp cayenne pepper 1 Tbsp garlic powder 1 tsp basil 1 tsp marjoram 1 tsp thyme 1 tsp parsley 1 tsp savory 1 tsp mace 1 tsp onion powder 1 tsp sage 1 tsp black pepper.

Add ingredients to a small mason jar and close lid and shake until combined.


Mulling Spice:
1 C brown sugar 2 tsp ground cinnamon 1 tsp ground cloves 1 tsp dried ground orange peel 1 tsp ground allspice 1/2 tsp ground nutmeg.

Add ingredients to a small mason jar and close lid and shake until combined.


No-Salt Seasoned Salt:
1 Tbsp garlic powder 2 1/2 tsp thyme leaves 2 1/2 tsp onion powder 2 1/2 tsp paprika 2 1/4 tsp celery seed 2 1/2 tsp ground white pepper 1 Tbsp dry mustard 2 1/4 tsp dried finely chopped lemon peel 1 Tbsp ground black pepper.

Add ingredients to a small mason jar and close lid and shake until combined.


Old Bay Seasoning Mix:
1 Tbsp ground bay leaves 2 1/2 tsp celery salt 1 1/2 tsp dry mustard 1 1/2 tsp ground black pepper 3/4 tsp ground nutmeg ½ tsp ground cloves 1/2 tsp ground ginger 1/2 tsp paprika 1/2 tsp red pepper 1/4 tsp ground mace 1/4 tsp ground cardamom.

Add ingredients to a small mason jar and close lid and shake until combined.


Onion-Paprika Blend:
2 tsp paprika 1 tsp onion powder 1/2 tsp salt 1/4 tsp cayenne pepper(optional) 1/4 tsp white pepper (optional).

Add ingredients to a small mason jar and close lid and shake until combined.


Onion Soup Mix (Lipton’s):
3/4 C instant minced onion 1/2 C beef bouillon powder 4 tsp onion powder 1/4 tsp crushed celery seeds 1/4 tsp sugar.

Add ingredients to a small mason jar and close lid and shake until combined.


Oriental Spice for Stir Fry(keep refrigerated):
1 tsp freshly grated lemon peel 1/4 tsp fennel seed crushed 1/4 tsp ground cloves 1/4 tsp anise seed crushed 1/4 tsp ground cinnamon 1/4 tsp ground ginger.

Add ingredients to a small mason jar and close lid and shake until combined.


Parmesan Mix:
1 lb. parmesan or Romano cheese, grated 1/4 C oregano 1/4 C basil 1/4 C dried parsley flakes.

Add ingredients to a small mason jar and close lid and shake until combined.

Pasta Blend:
5 Tbsp dried basil 3 Tbsp dried oregano 2 Tbsp dried thyme 1 tsp dried garlic.

Add ingredients to a small mason jar and close lid and shake until combined.


Pickling Mix:
1/4 C mustard seeds 1/4 C dill seed 1/4 C coriander seeds 2 Tbsp crushed chili peppers 2 Tbsp crushed bay leaves 1 Tbsp celery seeds 1 Tbsp white peppercorns.

Add ingredients to a small mason jar and close lid and shake until combined.


Poultry Seasoning:
2 Tbsp marjoram 2 Tbsp savory 2 tsp parsley 1 Tbsp sage 1 1/2 tsp ground thyme.

Add ingredients to a small mason jar and close lid and shake until combined.


Pumpkin Pie Spice Mix:
2 tsp ground cinnamon 1 tsp ground ginger 1/2 tsp ground cloves 1/2 tsp ground nutmeg.

Add ingredients to a small mason jar and close lid and shake until combined.


Homemade Ranch Seasoning Mix (Dairy-Free + Paleo):
Skip the store bought packets of ranch dressing mix and whip up big batch of this dairy-free and paleo Homemade Ranch Seasoning Mix with spices you already have on hand. Store it in a mason jar and use it for dressing, dips or seasoning on chicken or veggies!

Ingredients (Servings 1 cup):
6 Tablespoons dried parsley flakes 2 Tablespoons dried dill weed 2 Tablespoons garlic powder 1 Tablespoon onion powder 1 Tablespoon dried minced onion 1 Tablespoon freeze dried chives 2 teaspoons salt 1 teaspoon black pepper

Instructions:
Add all the ingredients together in a medium bowl.
Use you a spoon to mix the spices together until mix well.
Store in a sealed mason jar until ready to use.


Seafood Herbs:
5 tsp dried basil 5 tsp crushed fennel seeds 4 tsp dried parsley 1 tsp dried lemon peel.

Add ingredients to a small mason jar and close lid and shake until combined.


Seasoned Salt:
3/4 C salt 1/4 C garlic salt 1 tsp ground pepper 1/2 tsp dried oregano leaves 1 tsp paprika 1/8 tsp celery seed 1/4 tsp group white pepper 1/4 tsp dry mustard.

Add ingredients to a small mason jar and close lid and shake until combined.


Shake N’ Bake Mix:
1 C all-purpose flour 2 C fine dry breadcrumbs 2 tsp cornstarch 2 tsp paprika 2 tsp onion powder 2 tsp salt 2 tsp sugar 3 1/2 tsp poultry seasoning 2 Tbsp crumbled dried parsley.

Add ingredients to a sm mason jar and close lid and shake until combined.


Stuffing Blend:
6 Tbsp dried rubbed sage 3 Tbsp dried sweet marjoram 2 Tbsp dried parsley 4 tsp dried celery flakes.

Add ingredients to a small mason jar and close lid and shake until combined.


Vegetable Blend:
1 Tbsp marjoram 1 Tbsp basil 1 Tbsp chervil 1 Tbsp tarragon 1 Tbsp celery seed.

Add ingredients to a small mason jar and close lid and shake until combined.

(Goes well with vegetables and on salads)


Vegetable Seasoning Blend:
1/4 C onion powder 1/4′ C dried parsley flakes 2 Tbsp salt-free lemon pepper 2 Tbsp garlic powder 2 Tbsp celery seeds 2 tsp sage 2 tsp marjoram 2 tsp thyme 2 tsp basil 2 tsp oregano 2 tsp pepper 2 tsp dill weed.

Add ingredients to a small mason jar and close lid and shake until combined.

(For use with vegetables; or make broth by mixing 1 rounded teaspoon with each cup of warm water)


Salt Free Seasoning Mix:
3 Tbsp garlic granules 1 Tbsp onion powder 1 Tbsp dried basil crushed 1 Tbsp ground black pepper 1 Tbsp dried thyme crushed 1 Tbsp dried sage crushed 1 Tbsp mace.

Add ingredients to a small mason jar and close lid and shake until combined.


Seafood Seasoning:
4 tsp dried parsley crushed 1 1/2 Tbsp dried chives, dill or tarragon, crushed 2 tsp dried lemon peel 1 1/2 tsp dried mustard 1/2 tsp garlic granules.

Add ingredients to a small mason jar and close lid and shake until combined.

(Use about 2 tsp per pound of fish, and poach in about 1/4 c water or salt free broth. For variety, sprinkle the fish with paprika or toasted nuts.


Oriental Seasoning:
2 Tbsp onion powder 2 Tbsp ground ginger 2 Tbsp garlic granules 2 Tbsp ground black pepper.

Add ingredients to a small mason jar and close lid and shake until combined.

Use 1/4 to 1/2 t per pound of meat, fish or poultry.


Caesar Salad Dressing Mix:
1 1/2 tsp grated lemon peel 1 tsp oregano 1/8 tsp instant minced garlic 2 tsp grated parmesan cheese 1/2 tsp pepper.

Combine all ingredients in a small bowl; stir until well blended. Put mixture in a foil packet or 1-pint glass jar. Label as Caesar Salad Dressing Mix. Store in a cool dry place and use within 3 to 4 months.

Instructions for Label for Caesar Salad Dressing: Combine mix, 1/2 C vegetable oil, and 1/4 C lemon juice in a glass jar. Shake until well blended. Chill before serving. Makes about 3/4 cup of Salad Dressing.


Apple Pie Spice:
1/4 C cinnamon 2 tsp nutmeg 1 tsp allspice 1 tsp ground ginger.

Mix and store in air-tight container or mason jar


Baking Powder:
1/2 tsp cream of tartar 1/4 tsp baking soda 1/4 tsp cornstarch

Mix well and store in air tight container or mason jar. Recipe can be doubled or tripled


Beau Monde Seasoning:
1 Tbsp ground cloves 1 1/4 tsp ground cinnamon 1 Tbsp salt 1 Tbsp ground bay leaf 1 Tbsp ground allspice 2 Tbsp ground black pepper 1 tsp ground nutmeg 1 tsp ground mace 1 tsp celery seed 2 Tbsp ground white pepper.

Add ingredients to a small mason jar and close lid and shake until combined.


Blackening Spice Mix:
1 tsp ground basil 1 tsp ground thyme 1 tsp garlic 1 tsp white pepper 1 tsp black pepper 1 tsp salt or sea salt 1 tsp onion powder 2 tsp cayenne pepper 1 tsp paprika.

Add ingredients to a small mason jar and close lid and shake until combined.

(Recipe can also be doubled or quadrupled; refrigeration recommended but not required)


Chai Masala (dried):
1 black cardamom podseeds from 25 green cardamom pods 4 cloves ½ tsp fennel seeds) ¼ tsp blackpeppercorns 1/4 tsp carom seeds 1 tsp dried ginger (optional) 1 tsp ground cinnamon

Grind until fine; store in glass container in cool, dark place for 6 months; makes 3 Tbsp


Homemade Everything Bagel Seasoning:
2 Tbsp poppy seeds, 1 Tbsp white sesame seeds, 1 Tbsp black sesame seeds, 1 1/2 Tbsp dried minced garlic, 1 1/2 Tbsp dried onion flakes, 1 1/2 tsp flaked sea salt

In a mixing bowl, combine, combine all ingredients and mix until well combined. Sprinkle liberally over the top of your bagel, eggs, greek yogurt, avocado, etc. Store in an air-tight container in your pantry.


Parmesan Pizza Seasoning:
½ C grated parmesan cheese 1 tsp basil 1 tsp oregano 1 tsp red pepper flakes 1/2 tsp garlic powder 1/2 tsp ground sea salt

Mix all ingredients together in a spice shaker.
Sprinkle on hot pizza before serving.
Store extra seasoning mix in the refrigerator.


This Homemade Garlic Bread Seasoning is so easy that you’ll always keep a jar in your fridge for homemade garlic bread, breadsticks, or pizza sauce!

1/2 cup powdered Parmesan cheese 2 tsp Kosher salt 2 Tbsp garlic powder 2 tsp oregano 2 tsp basil 2 tsp marjoram 2 tsp parsley

Combine ingredients in a jar (preferably one with a sprinkle top) and shake. Store in an airtight container in the refrigerator until the expiration date on the cheese.


Sprinkle on top of breadsticks:
Combine 1 1/2 tablespoons Homemade Garlic Bread Seasoning with 1/2 cup of softened real butter and spread on a loaf of French bread (cut in 1/2 lengthwise). Wrap in foil and bake at 375 until butter is melted. If you want, you could also pop it open-faced under the broiler for a few minutes so it gets brownish and crispy.


Quick and easy homemade gingerbread spice mix.

The perfect addition to your holiday baking and beverages. Where as gingerbread spice has a balance of cinnamon, allspice, and ginger. It really does add a different and unique flavour.

Ingredients: 2 Tbsp allspice ground 2 Tbsp cinnamon ground 2 Tbsp ginger ground 1 Tbsp cloves ground 1 Tbsp nutmeg ground pinch black pepper ground

Directions: Combine all ingredients in a small bowl. Store in an air-tight mason jar.


SUGARFREE CARNE ASADA SPICE MIX:

Ingredients: 1 Tbsp smoked paprika 1 Tbsp dark chili powder 1 tsp onion powder 1 tsp garlic powder 1 tsp ground cumin 1 tsp sea salt 1 tsp dried Italian seasoning 1/2 tsp black pepper 1/2 Tbsp Swerve

Directions: Mix all ingredients and store in mason jar with lid. This makes about 1/4 cup of seasoning.


Burger Seasoning Blend:

Ingredients: 1/4 cup salt 2 Tbsp paprika 2 Tbsp garlic powder 1/2 Tbsp cumin 1/2 Tbsp ground black pepper 1/2 Tbsp dried basil 1/2 Tbsp dried parsley 1 tsp chili powder 1 Tbsp onion powder 1 tsp dry mustard

Directions:
Combine all ingredients in a bowl and mix until combined.
Store in an mason jar with lid and this recipe can be doubled.
